As President & CEO, Ken Egidi is responsible for setting Pepper Construction Company’s mission and strategic vision and allocating the company’s resources to meet those goals. He also provides strategic oversight and support for every area of the company.
Ken has more than 35 years of broad experience in the Chicagoland development and construction industry. He joined Pepper in 1986 and was appointed Senior Vice President/General Manager in 1998. He was instrumental in developing the company’s Job Control System, a proprietary project management system.

George Sollitt Construction Company
Steve Lenz has been with The George Sollitt Construction Company for 32 years, beginning his career as a carpenter and rising through the ranks to his current position of Director of Operations. He is responsible for the scheduling and overseeing of all field staff and also serves as Safety Director.
Prior to his appointment to the Board of Directors, Steve volunteered in numerous other capacities for the Builders Association as a member of the Labor Relations Task Force, the Business Assistance Task Force and the Safety and Health Committee. Sollitt’s excellent safety incident rate has earned it a Best In Class Safety Award from the Association in two of the last three years.

Clark Construction Group – Chicago
A 1994 engineering graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dave is a Senior Vice President and Head of Midwest Operations for Clark Construction Group – Chicago. Among projects completed under his watch by Clark Chicago: The 60-story 300 N. LaSalle Building, located adjacent to the Chicago River. In addition to the Board of Directors, he serves on the Builders Association’s Labor Relations Task Force.
Clark Construction is a national General Contractor and Design-Build firm and has been operating in Chicago for over 20 years. As one of the nation’s largest contractors, having grown from a small excavating firm founded in 1906, Clark has operations across the United States. According to Engineering News-Record by 2011 revenue, Clark Construction ranks second or third nationally in a number of market segments, including: General building; multi-unit residential; green building; government offices; healthcare; and hospitality construction.
Jeffrey A. Raday | Immediate Past President

Jeff Raday is the President of McShane Construction Company, a full-service design/build and general construction firm headquartered in Rosemont. Jeff leads the firm’s national construction operations including the firm’s offices in the Southeast, Southwest and Western regions. Jeff is a civil engineering graduate of Valparaiso University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and is past chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America.
Ernest Brown | Director
Brown & Momen, Inc.
Ernest Brown, President of Brown & Momen, Inc., began his career in 1970 by working for the first Construction Management firm in the United States as a Project Planner/Scheduler. Mr. Brown relocated to Washington, D.C. where he was a Senior Scheduler for Amtrak on the Northeast Corridor Project which converted the Washington to Boston line into the high-speed commuter rail service it is today.
Hired by Hill International, a construction claims firm, Mr. Brown was assigned to work with the General Services Administration (GSA) to analyze and defend the GSA against construction delay claims. In 1983, Mr. Brown returned to Chicago to take the position of Lead Scheduler for the McCormick Place Expansion Project. He went on to accept the position of Project Administrator for Chicago’s Department of Planning to transform the State Street Mall into an open access street.
Mr. Brown incorporated Brown & Momen, Inc. in 1986.

Patrick Cermak is President and Chief Operating Officer of Wight & Company, an integrated architecture, engineering, and construction firm focused on the Design & Delivery of world-class facilities. He leads Wight’s daily operations, financial management, and client service in the United States and strategic engagements globally. The firm has steadily grown market share under Patrick’s leadership, resulting in a diverse portfolio that spans early childhood education centers to transportation infrastructure.
Patrick is active in industry, civic, and philanthropic organizations such as Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Design Futures Council (DFC), Chicago Zoological Society (CZS), and Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
Pat Healy | Director

As Vice President for Business Development and a member of the Bulley & Andrews 6-person executive team, Pat shares in the responsibility of establishing and accomplishing the strategic vision of the firm. A relative newcomer to the Midwest, Pat has over 10-years of experience in the Chicagoland and Indianapolis construction industries. Prior to arriving in Chicago in 2003, Pat enjoyed a successful military career, retiring from active duty in 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Since that time, he has made his home in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago.
James Hill | Director

James B. Hill II (Jim) is President of The Hill Group, a $200M+ Chicago-based organization engaged in the construction and maintenance of mechanical building systems — all with a focus on lean delivery, energy efficiency and sustainability.
He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a Masters of Business Administration. He began his career over 30 years ago as an intern in the stock room and has worked in nearly every position within the Hill family of companies. From 1995 to 2012 Jim worked as a project engineer and was involved in the success of projects at Lincoln Park Zoo, Loyola University, University Club of Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, The Palmolive Building and Comiskey Park. Jim represents the third generation of Hill family members to join the company.
Mike Meagher | Director
James McHugh Construction Co.
As Senior Vice President of James McHugh Construction Co., Mr. Meagher develops and oversees all business development and marketing efforts, along with government relations and strategic planning, for one of Chicago’s largest contracting firms. He identifies new target areas, directs market research, and personally manages all client relations in order to improve customer satisfaction and quality control, and identify and prioritize potential new markets and customers.
Mr. Meagher has spearheaded design-build efforts with the U.S. Navy and also leads the corporate goodwill efforts for McHugh, including the firm’s pro bono construction of the Chicago Youth Program headquarters. He served as chairman on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, serves on the board of Catholic Charities of Chicago, 100 Club of Chicago, and King Bruwaert House.
Terrence Roche | Director
Denk & Roche Builders, Inc.
After completing business school Terrence returned to Denk & Roche. Terrence Roche worked as an apprentice carpenter during summer and winter breaks throughout college. Terrence enjoyed being a carpenter and felt it was necessary to prove value in the field before transitioning to the office.
Terrence took time away from Denk & Roche and worked as the managing partner of Dalcassian Builders in residential real estate development during the housing boom. Terrence transitioned back to Denk & Roche as the housing market declined to focus all of his efforts on increasing Denk & Roche’s commercial customer base.
